I am finding that I am increasingly tired, and having difficulty keeping up this blog. Mostly I am tired fighting the same fight over and over.
What has been accomplished from the revelations of Bush's domestic wiretapping scandal? Little, for domestic wiretapping still continues.
How about melamine-tainted pet food which led to revelations of tainted feed fed to hogs, chickens and farm-raised fish fed to humans? Nothing really has changed. China still sends tainted food around the world, money trumps lives. Look it up if you don't believe me.
As far as health care, and in particular women's reproductive health care, under the Bush regime, we as a nation, has slipped farther and farther into the abyss, where women's lives don't mean diddly. Maternal and infant mortality rates are disgustingly high for a nation that spends the most dollars on health care and gets pitifully poor results for their money. That's before you put in the racial and economic factors. Again, money trumps lives.
I'm sick and tired of the dems and repugnuts on the Hill that continually put big business over people's lives. Our nation loses many lives, from a multitude of different reasons, that track back to corporate whoredom. Your loved one died from a drug that went to market after the company suppressed information from their clinical trials? Too damn bad. Can't afford to put gas in your car to get to work? Tough shit. We'll have a hearing, but in the end, huge gifts will go to the oil companies and they will continue to raise prices at the pump while making record profits quarter after quarter. Say it with me, this time. Money trumps lives.
The scandals stemming from this administration are too numerous to list, but even after the dems took control of Congress, it's still business as usual for this administration. We have put dems in control that have no damn back-bone. They are openly pissing on the people as they back down from a time line for troop withdrawal, while placating the petulant children orchestrating the debacle known as the War in Iraq.
I am tired and I need a break.
Ciao!
